The sample itinerary described below
is approximately like the itinerary your group will be following during your stay with WHITE STAR TOURS. However,
the exact times, days and destinations may vary for your group.
Aug. 23, Depart
from your hometown and travel to your first overnight stop where lodging has been arranged for you (pack on overnight
bag); dinner is on your own this evening.
Aug. 24, After breakfast, check out and travel to
Vermont, stopping for rest and lunch on your own en route to your lodging in the Killington/Rutland
area. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with a welcome reception, followed by dinner
and an evening of entertainment.
Aug. 25, Breakfast at the inn,
then depart with your local guide for a day in Vermont. Visit the Coolidge Birthplace &
Homestead, where our 30th president was born and raised. See
the historical museum, carriage barn, general store, summer White House, church and Plymouth Cheese Factory. Lunch
is on your own in the quaint village of Woodstock. Visit Sugarbush
Farms, and learn how they make their maple syrup and cheddar cheese. Stop for photos at Quechee
Gorge, Vermont’s “Little Grand Canyon”. Dinner is included this evening at
a local restaurant.

Aug. 26, After breakfast, check out and depart with your guide for New Hampshire.
Stop at the Bath Covered Bridge before lunch on your own in Littleton, New Hampshire.
See the world’s longest candy counter at Chutter’s General Store.
A short nature walk on the paved path at “The Basin” uncovers the beauty of the water-filled,
basin-shaped natural rock pothole. Ride the longest sky ride in New Hampshire, the Loon Mountain
Gondola, before arriving at Lake Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad to board the train for a scenic ride
along the shores of the lake, complete with a roast turkey dinner. Check into your lodging in the area
for a restful night.
27, Breakfast at the inn, then check out and depart
for Maine. Arrive in Kennebunkport where your guide takes you past the
Bush’s summer home and sea captain’s mansions. Lunch is on your own at Dock Square, with time
to explore the shops. The highlight of your afternoon is a 90-minute “Lighthouse Lover’s
Cruise” featuring views of four lighthouses, including Portland Head Light! Check into your
lodging this evening in Portland, Maine area and prepare for a delicious, Downeast Maine Lobster Bake.
Aug. 28, After breakfast, depart with your local guide for a tour of Portland.
Learn about Portland’s diverse history and architecture. See the Victoria Mansion, home of
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and the bustling Old Port. Stop for photos at Portland Head Light,
Maine’s oldest lighthouse. Lunch is on your own in the Old Port area, then depart for Freeport and
L.L. Bean for a fun shopping excursion. Dinner is on your own this evening at your lodging
or a nearby restaurant.
Aug. 29, Following breakfast, check out and depart for Deerfield, MA for a visit to Yankee
Candle Village. You can enjoy this unique candle shop, hunt for bargains and
enjoy lunch on your own here before traveling to your overnight stop in northeast Pennsylvania. Dinner
is on your own tonight.
30, After breakfast, check out and head for Hershey,
PA and a stop at Hershey’s Chocolate World. You are welcome to take the
Great American Chocolate Tour ride and explore the complex, then continue west for a stop at the Flight
93 Memorial before continuing to your last night of lodging in western Pennsylvania (pack an overnight bag);
dinner is on your own this evening.
Aug. 31, Enjoy breakfast, then check
out and prepare for your department home- taking with you fabulous memories of your vacation in beautiful New England!
