Hi, Carolyn, (618-928-3282), this trip to the Grand canyon & Sedona sounds assume, I want to go!!!!!
The sample itinerary described below is approximately like the itinerary your group will be
following during our B-Jay Travel Trip. However, the exact times, days, and destinations may vary for your group.
Thurs, Sept. 13 – Depart from your hometown and travel west as you begin your
Grand Canyon & Sedona adventure. Arrive in Kansas City, MO for a visit to the Arabia Steamboat
Museum, which depicts life on the Mississippi during the great steamboat age through the remains of the sunken Arabia.
Overnight lodging has been arranged in the area and dinner is included (pack an overnight bag).
Friday, Sept. 14, Enjoy breakfast, then
check out and head for Wichita, KS and trip back to 1865 at Old Cowtown. This living history
museum lets you immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and activities common to a Midwestern cattle town. Hear
the ring of the blacksmith anvil, try an ice-cold sarsaparilla in the saloon and be prepared to duck in the doorway as gunfire
erupts in the streets! After your visit continue south to Oklahoma City, OK where lodging and dinner have
been arranged for the evening.
Sat., Sept. 15, Breakfast this morning, then check out and visit the Oklahoma City
National Memorial & Museum. The Memorial Museum is an interactive learning experience that takes
you on a chronological self-guided tour through the story of April 19, 1995, and the days, weeks and years that followed the
bombing of Oklahoma City’s Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. The story tracks the remarkable journey
of loss, resilience, justice and hope. Lodging has been arranged in the Tucumcari, NM area along with dinner.
Sept. 1, Breakfast, then it’s off to Sandia, NM for an admission to the unique Tinkertown
Museum. It took one man 40 years to create the whimsical 22-room museum, formed with over 50,000
glass bottles, and inside, magical carvings and figures are displayed in miniature scenes from a circus to Star Wars.
Continuing west, lodging has been arranged for the next three evenings in the Flagstaff, AZ area.
Dinner this evening will be arranged at Black Bart’s Steakhouse.
Monday, Sept. 17, An early breakfast
starts your day has you head to one of the nation’s most famous natural attractions – The Grand
Canyon. Your guide will take you on a 3 ½ hour tour of the canyon lending insight
and details into its formation and history. While here, you experience the canyon as only can bee done
through the spectacular IMAX film, “Grand Canyon: The Hidden Secrets”. Returning
to your hotel, you will have time to freshen up before dinner.
Tuesday, Sept. 18, Enjoy breakfast, then
depart this morning aboard your motorcoach and head south along scenic AZ 89A, which passes through thick pine forests for
10 miles before descending suddenly and spectacularly into Oak Creek Canyon, a steep, narrow and very colorful gorge that
is at the center of the second most visited area in Arizona. There will be time for photographs, then continue
to your destination – Sedona, Arizona – “The most beautiful place in America”.
Take the “Pink Jeep” Scenic Rim Tour. On this tour, view the
iconic Cow Pass rock formation, relax with breathtaking views of the city below and climb Schnebly Hill Road through Bear
Wallow Canyon where you are surrounded by towering rock formations. Stop at the Merry Go Round, an incredible
outcropping of red rock often used for Hollywood movies. And learn of Sedona’s history, wildlife and geology.
There will be free time to explore downtown Sedona on your own, before returning to the Flagstaff area for dinner.
Sept. 19, Breakfast this morning, then ride through Petrified Forest National Park where 200-million-year-old
fossils tell the tale of the earth – and its prehistoric inhabitants – amongst the picturesque wonders of Arizona’s
Painted Desert. Lodging has been arranged this evening in the Albuquerque, NM area along with dinner.
Sept. 20, Check out after breakfast and travel into the Lone Star State – Texas.
A guided tour of Amarillo is planned upon arrival, then enjoy a fantastic dinner at the Big Texas Steak
Ranch. Lodging has been arranged in Amarillo.
Friday, Sept. 21, After breakfast,
return to Oklahoma city for admission to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The
museum showcases America’s West, through exhibits such as the American Cowboy Gallery, Native American Gallery, Museum
of the Frontier West, Fine Firearms Gallery and the world’s most extensive holding of American rodeo memorabilia.
Continue traveling east after your visit where lodging and dinner await the group in Tulsa, OK. (Pack
an overnight bag).
Saturday, Sept. 22, One last breakfast this morning, then board your motorcoach and depart
for home with fond memories of your visit to The Grand Canyon & Sedona!
