Thurs., Sept. 17:  Depart from your hometown and travel to your overnight location.  Check in and prepare for dinner on your own in the area and a restful night.

 

Friday, Sept. 18:  Following breakfast, check out and travel to Fargo, ND.  Upon arrival, stop at the Fargo-Moorhead Visitors Center.  Then continue to your hotel for check in followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

 

Sat., Sept. 19:  After breakfast, depart for a full day of touring in the Fargo area.  First, stop for a visit to the Hjemkhost Center, home of a Viking ship and the Historical & Cultural Society of Clay County.  Following your visit, head for downtown Fargo for some time to explore the historic town and get lunch on your own along Broadway.  This afternoon, head for Bonanzaville, USA.  The museum and village provides information to teach you the history of the region.  This evening, dinner is again included.

 

Sun., Sept. 20:  Following breakfast, check out and depart for the Rapid City area, where you will check in to your hotel for the next 3 nights.  Dinner awaits your group, followed by a leisurely evening.

 

Mon., Sept. 21:  After breakfast, depart with your local guide and return to Mt. Rushmore National Memorial to walk the President’s Trail.  Stop at Crazy Horse Memorial and visit the Museum of the North American Indian.  During a drive through of Custer State Park, you’ll view an abundance of native wildlife.  Return to your lodging to prepare for dinner, then depart for dinner at a local restaurant.

 

Tues., Sept. 22:  Arise to breakfast, then meet your guide and head for a visit to the Mt. Rushmore Black Hills Gold Factory, then depart for Historic Deadwood (the west doesn’t get any wilder) and Mt. Moriah Cemetery (burial site of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane).  Dinner is included this evening, then return to your lodging for a restful night.

 

Wed., Sept. 23:  Enjoy breakfast, then check out and depart eastward, traveling through the Badlands National Park with a stop at the visitor’s center.  Continue to your lodging in Mitchell, SD.  Dinner is included this evening.

 

Thurs., Sept. 24:  Enjoy breakfast, then visit the a-maze-ing Corn Palace.  After your stop, continue to your overnight location for check in and dinner on your own.

 

Friday, Sept. 25:  After breakfast, check out and prepare for your departure home…taking with you beautiful memories of your vacation in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
